CAS Puthupally NSS Unit

The NSS unit of the college functions as a self-financing unit under the IHRD Cell of National Service Scheme. The unit began functioning from the academic year 2016-17. The NSS volunteers actively participate in the activities of social relevance upholding the motto NOT ME , BUT YOU. Ever since its inception, the unit has undertaken various  campus activities including personality development programmes , women empowerment programmes, anti-narcotics campaign, blood donation camp etc. In the social front , the unit has undertaken various community development activities. The unit has undertaken the construction of homes for the needy, enabled solar lighting in needy sectors and took efforts to conduct various community awareness programmes. We also conduct and participate in various camping activities.We , at NSS start with a group of volunteers  to eventually become a group of leaders who can handle the problems of society in a better way.


Vettam project is designed to provide electricity to poor households through renewable energy source. We were able to provide cheap solar energy to one the house in our adopted village. NSS volunteers participated in this project with highest enthusiasm and it also gave them a chance to implement what they learned in the carriculam.



Yoga day observed by the unit on 21st June 2020 and the trainer gave excellent class to volunteers to practice yoga in the correct way. Most of the volunteers took the lessons home and still practising enthusiastically. This gives them good health and exhuberance.
